Why SimSlide LM
A manual slider that solves the narrow-room, dual-handed problem for a fraction of a motorized rail
The SimSlide LM Overhead Slider is a solid double-track ceiling rail that lets an overhead launch monitor slide side-to-side above the hitting zone. In a tight room where left- and right-handed golfers cannot both swing from the same tee, a fixed overhead position is a compromise for one of them. SimSlide LM removes that compromise by giving the launch monitor a repeatable, lockable travel path from one handedness position to the other.
Precision machine-grade bearings on a double-track rail deliver ultra-smooth motion by hand. Travel-stops set the exact left- and right-handed positions so the mount lands in the same spot every time. A locking mechanism holds the launch monitor in place during play, and the 1/2-inch aluminum sliding plate gives any overhead ceiling bracket a rigid mounting base. Total ceiling drop is only 2.75 inches, so the launch monitor stays as close to the ceiling as a fixed mount.

The Narrow-Room Problem
One tee, two handedness positions, no room to move the launch monitor
Most residential simulator bays are built around a single centered tee. An overhead launch monitor mounted directly above that tee reads a right-handed swing cleanly, but a left-handed golfer using the same tee is now standing under the wrong side of the sensor cone. Moving the tee is not an option in a 10 to 12 foot wide room. Moving the launch monitor between rounds means climbing a ladder, unbolting a ceiling bracket, and re-aligning to a new reference point every time.
SimSlide LM gives the launch monitor a fixed travel path on the ceiling. Slide it, lock it, hit. Slide it back for the next player. Travel-stops make the two positions repeatable to the same spot every session, so calibration and tee alignment stay consistent.
Home bay, 10 to 12 ft wide, mixed left- and right-handed players sharing one tee. Room too narrow to offset the tee for both handedness positions. Overhead launch monitor already installed or planned.
Key Features At A Glance
Everything the SimSlide LM does the moment it is bolted to the ceiling
Double-Track Rail
Solid dual-rail design carries the launch monitor evenly with no side-to-side wobble.
Precision Bearings
Machine-grade bearings deliver ultra-smooth manual sliding with a light one-hand push.
Travel-Stops
Adjustable stops define exact left- and right-handed positions for repeatable placement.
Locking Mechanism
Positive lock holds the launch monitor firmly during full-speed swings.
1/2 in. Sliding Plate
Rigid aluminum deck gives any ceiling bracket a solid mounting base with zero flex.
2.75 in. Ceiling Drop
Sits tight to the ceiling so the launch monitor keeps its full field of view.
White Or Black
Two finish options blend with typical ceiling colors or dark studio bays.
Four Track Lengths
21, 28, 36, and 48 inch slide ranges cover single-tee, dual-tee, and wide-bay layouts.
Choose Your Slide Range
Four track lengths sized to the room, not the other way around
The listed slide distance is the total travel of the launch monitor along the rail. Total length is the ceiling footprint needed to mount the unit end-to-end. For a mixed-handedness single-tee setup, most rooms use the 21 in. or 28 in. option. Rooms with an offset dual-tee or a projector on the same rail typically size up to 36 in. or 48 in.
| Track Size | Slide Distance | Total Ceiling Length | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 21 in. | 21 in. of travel | 34 in. total | Single-tee bay, tight lateral offset for dual-handed play |
| 28 in. | 28 in. of travel | 42 in. total | Most common single-tee setup, comfortable dual-handed clearance |
| 36 in. | 36 in. of travel | 50 in. total | Wider bay, dual-tee layout, or offset launch monitor position |
| 48 in. | 48 in. of travel | 62 in. total | Widest coverage for commercial bays or multi-position teaching setups |

How SimSlide LM Works
Three steps between a right-handed swing and a left-handed swing
1. Unlock
Release the hand-operated locking mechanism on the sliding plate. No tools required between shots.
2. Slide
Push the launch monitor along the rail with one hand. Precision bearings carry it smoothly to the travel-stop set for the opposite handedness.
3. Lock and hit
Engage the lock. The launch monitor is now fixed above the new handedness position, aligned to the same reference point every time.
Want It Motorized?
Compare SimSlide LM to the SIMRail Automated Slider
SimSlide LM is the manual, mechanical version of the same idea: a ceiling rail with travel-stops. The SIMRail Automated Slider adds a motor, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi control, and GSPro handedness sync so the launch monitor repositions itself in software when the player switches sides. Same room-fit purpose, two ways to solve it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers before ordering
Which launch monitors fit the SimSlide LM?
The 8 in. by 23 in. mounting deck accepts any overhead launch monitor ceiling bracket. Verified fitments include VTrack Overhead, Uneekor EYE XO2, Uneekor QED, Foresight Falcon, and ProTee VX Overhead. If a specific first-party bracket is oversized, contact support and a larger deck can be produced.
How much ceiling space does it need?
The total ceiling length is the slide distance plus 13 in. of rail hardware. A 21 in. slide needs 34 in., a 28 in. slide needs 42 in., a 36 in. slide needs 50 in., and a 48 in. slide needs 62 in. of clear ceiling.
Can it mount into drywall, or does it need joists?
Both. Mounting into ceiling joists is preferred and gives the strongest hold. Drywall-only installs are supported with heavy-duty toggle anchors rated for the combined weight of the rail plus the launch monitor plus its bracket. Framing checklists live on the setup and support page.
How low does it sit below the ceiling?
Total drop from finished ceiling to the bottom of the sliding plate is 2.75 in. Add the height of the launch monitor bracket and the launch monitor itself to get the final ceiling clearance for the room.
Is a launch monitor bracket included?
No. Most overhead launch monitors ship with a first-party ceiling bracket, and the 1/2-inch aluminum deck is designed to accept them. The deck is pre-drilled for the Universal Vaulted Ceiling mount and can be drilled to any custom pattern.
How does it hold the launch monitor in place during a swing?
A hand-operated positive lock engages against the rail to hold the sliding plate stationary. Once locked, the deck does not shift under normal swing vibration or accidental contact.
How is this different from the SIMRail Automated Slider?
SimSlide LM is manual and mechanical. SIMRail is motorized, controlled by Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and syncs handedness position with GSPro so the launch monitor repositions itself when a player switches sides in the game. SimSlide LM starts at $375. SIMRail starts at $1,050. Both mount to the ceiling the same way.
What size should be chosen for a mixed-handedness single-tee room?
Most 10 to 12 ft wide bays sharing one tee land on the 21 in. or 28 in. slide range. Rooms above 13 ft or with an offset tee typically size up to 36 in. The 48 in. is aimed at wide commercial bays and dual-tee layouts.
Can two SimSlide LMs be linked to cover more travel?
No. Each unit is a self-contained rail with its own bearings and stops. For travel wider than 48 in., the motorized SIMRail Automated Slider is the recommended option.
What colors are available?
White or black powder-coated components. White blends into standard residential ceilings. Black suits dark studio bays and commercial installs.
Does it require any power or wiring?
No. SimSlide LM is fully mechanical. There is no motor, no cabling, and no software. Sliding is done by hand and locked in place manually.
What is the shipping timeline?
SimSlide LM ships free within the continental US. In-stock sizes leave the warehouse within 1 to 2 business days. Custom track lengths or oversized decks are made to order and ship in 2 to 3 weeks.
What support is included after purchase?
Every SimSlide LM comes with US-based install support from the Elite Sim Golf team. Written install guides, framing diagrams, and email support are covered for the life of the product. See the Setup and Support page for install references.
Is a bulk or installer price available?
Yes. Pro installers, dealers, and integrators can apply through the Reseller And Installer Program for trade pricing on the SimSlide LM and the full ESG catalog.
