Birdie 10 Golf Simulator Enclosure by Elite Sim Golf
The Birdie 10 Golf Simulator Enclosure is our compact, single-stall bay designed for golfers who want a premium look and feel without giving up the garage. At 10' wide, 8'2" tall, and 5' deep, it’s sized to fit neatly in one garage stall or a smaller sim room while still giving you a true “sim bay” experience with a 4:3, 4K-ready impact screen and a heavy-duty steel frame.
Despite its smaller footprint, the Birdie 10 includes the same premium materials as our larger enclosures—a 4K triple-layer impact screen, velvet-lined walls with a vinyl exterior, and a 1-1/4" powder-coated steel frame—at a price that competes with most value enclosures.
Key Features
Compact 10' Simulator Bay
10' wide, 8'2" tall, and 5' deep—ideal for single-car garages and tighter sim rooms where space is at a premium.
4:3 4K-Ready Screen
Designed around a 4:3 aspect ratio so your 4K or 1080p projector fills the hitting area with a tall, immersive simulator image.
4K Triple-Layer Impact Screen
ULTRA premium triple-layer impact screen engineered to handle repeated ball strikes while keeping the image bright and crisp.
Velvet-Lined, Light-Absorbing Walls
Premium velvet inner lining with a durable vinyl exterior reduces light bleed and frames the image for a clean, professional look.
Seamless Screen Integration
Velvet enclosure flaps overlap the edges of the impact screen using hook-and-loop fasteners to create a smooth, finished border.
Heavy-Duty Steel Frame
1-1/4" (32 mm) thick-wall powder-coated steel tubing with anti-collision padding along the top rail for durability and protection.
Fast, Tool-Free Assembly
Snap-together frame design; most Birdie 10 installs can be completed in 45–60 minutes, with two people recommended but not required.
Compact 10' Bay for Garages & Tight Rooms
The Birdie 10 is our second most popular enclosure size because it fits where many larger bays won’t. The 10' width and 8'2" height are perfect for a single garage stall or smaller sim rooms, leaving space for a vehicle or storage alongside your setup while still giving you a comfortable hitting window.
If you’ve been told you don’t have enough room for a “real” simulator, the Birdie 10 is designed to make a true golf studio possible in tighter spaces.
4:3 Simulator Image for Golf & Practice
Unlike many home-theater-style setups built around a 16:9 image, the Birdie 10 is built around a 4:3 aspect ratio that’s ideal for golf simulation. That means:
- A taller hitting window that keeps more of the fairway and sky in view
- More natural framing for range sessions and on-course play
- Excellent compatibility with golf sim software while still working well for casual movies or sports
Combine the 4:3 layout with the 4K triple-layer impact screen and you get a bright, detailed image that looks great whether you’re grinding on the range or playing a full virtual round.
Velvet-Lined Enclosure for a Clean, Professional Look
The Birdie 10 enclosure uses a premium velvet inner lining backed by a rugged vinyl exterior. The dark velvet helps absorb stray projector light, improves perceived contrast, and visually frames the hitting area so your eye stays on the screen. Matching velvet flaps wrap the edges of the impact screen using hook-and-loop fastening, creating a smooth transition from wall to screen and helping to reduce light bleed.
Heavy-Duty Steel Frame, Built for the Long Haul
Just like our larger models, the Birdie 10 is built on a 1-1/4" (32 mm) thick-wall powder-coated steel frame. The tubing locks together to form a rigid structure that keeps the screen and enclosure panels properly tensioned. Anti-collision padding along the top rail gives you extra protection in case of a high wedge or full-swing mishit.
Fast, Tool-Free Assembly
The Birdie 10 is designed to go together quickly with minimal hassle. The frame sections snap together without tools, and most customers can complete the build in about 45–60 minutes. Two people are recommended for the easiest setup, but the design is straightforward enough that a single installer can manage it with a bit of extra time and care.

Golf Simulator Setup & Safety FAQ
How far away should I stand from my impact screen?
For the safety of both the golfer and the screen, we recommend standing a minimum of 10–12 feet away from the screen.
How much space do I need for a golf simulator enclosure?
When planning your golf simulator space, make sure to account for:
- Buffer space – Avoid placing the enclosure directly against walls or ceilings to help prevent bounceback and reduce the chance of damage.
- Enclosure footprint – Always verify the exact enclosure dimensions when planning your layout.
- Safe hitting distance – Golfers should stand approximately 10–12 feet away from the screen.
- Golfer height – Taller golfers require additional ceiling clearance for a full swing.
- Club length – Drivers require more swing space than irons.
- Turf thickness and obstacles – Consider HVAC ducts, soffits, lighting fixtures, and flooring height.
- Room layout – Ensure there is adequate space for walkways, furniture, and access to doors.
Can I iron or steam a golf impact screen?
We do NOT recommend ironing your golf screen, because it is very easy to damage the screen material. Our goal is for your impact screen to last as long as possible.
When it comes to wrinkles and fold marks, the best solution is prevention. Unpack your new screen immediately after receiving it, and if you need to store it temporarily, fold it very loosely.
Mounting the screen with proper tension using zip ties or ball bungees and allowing it to relax for a couple of days will smooth out most wrinkles naturally.
That being said…
We have also had success using a clothing steamer to remove wrinkles and fold lines. Using a clean consumer-grade steamer with distilled water can help accelerate the process while avoiding water marks on the screen.
Can I wash my golf screen material?
For detailed cleaning instructions and best practices, please see our article:
“How to Clean Your Golf Impact Screen.”
Are there safety concerns when using a golf simulator?
We want your indoor golf setup to be fun, help improve your game, and remain safe for everyone.
Always follow these safety guidelines:
- Follow the assembly manual provided with your enclosure.
- Keep children, pets, and spectators outside of swing range.
- Protect ceilings, walls, windows, vehicles, and nearby property.
- Ensure your enclosure and impact screen are properly tensioned.
- Always use equipment as intended for indoor golf simulator use.
What happens if the black enclosure material gets hit by a golf ball?
The enclosure material is not designed to absorb direct golf ball impacts. During normal use, golf balls should strike the impact screen first.
If a ball contacts the screen and then lightly rebounds into the enclosure fabric, it typically will not cause any issues.
Can I get a replacement impact screen for the enclosure?
Yes. Replacement impact screens are available if your current screen becomes worn or damaged.
Contact our customer support team and we can help match the correct screen size and material for your enclosure.
Proper installation and correct tensioning can significantly extend the life of your golf simulator screen.
How long does it take to assemble the enclosure?
Most DIY golf simulator enclosures assemble in about 45–90 minutes, depending on the enclosure size.
Installation is typically faster with two people. Assembly instructions and reference materials are included to guide the process.
What pipes are required to build the enclosure frame?
DIY golf simulator enclosures require 1-inch EMT (Electrical Metal Tubing) to construct the frame.
You have two options:
- Add a Pipe Framing Kit so pipes arrive pre-cut to the exact lengths.
- Purchase EMT conduit from a local hardware or building supply store.
Your enclosure kit will include the exact pipe lengths and quantities required.
What are EMT pipes?
EMT stands for Electrical Metal Tubing, also known as electrical conduit. These metal pipes are used to construct the frame structure of simulator enclosures.
Important: Do not substitute PVC pipe for EMT. PVC lacks the strength required and will not properly fit EMT fittings.
Do I need to use a golf hitting mat?
Golf hitting mats provide a cushioned surface for standing and swinging your golf club. They help protect your joints during impact and allow you to tee the ball at the proper height for realistic practice.
When choosing a hitting mat size, consider the needs of the golfer and the available simulator space.
- 4' × 5' – Allows most golfers to comfortably swing a driver with their heels near the edge of the mat.
- 5' × 7' – Provides additional stance room for wider swings.
- 4' × 9' – Ideal for simulator setups used by both right- and left-handed golfers.
Larger mats are also helpful when multiple players will be using the simulator.
