The Garmin Approach R50 is an all-in-one photometric launch monitor and simulator that sits on the floor beside the ball, facing downrange. Three high-speed cameras capture more than 15 ball and club metrics per swing, and a built-in barometer adjusts readings for environmental conditions. No ceiling mount, no overhead bracket, and no installation hardware required beyond AC power.

A 10″ built-in color touchscreen runs the whole experience directly on the unit — shot data, impact video review, and Home Tee Hero virtual rounds across more than 43,000 preloaded courses. Ball data is captured automatically; Garmin's included club-face stickers unlock full club metrics like club speed, path, and face angle.

Because the R50 has its own display and processor, it does not require a Windows PC to run. The Garmin Approach R50 requires only AC power (or its internal battery) and, for a projected simulator experience, an HDMI connection to a projector or external monitor. It is designed for both permanent and portable indoor simulator installations. Garmin's included club-face stickers are recommended for complete club data tracking.

Because the Garmin R50 sits on the floor beside the ball facing downrange — rather than in front of the mat like an overhead-mounted monitor — mat length matters more. The R50 occupies space beside the hitting strip, so the longer 8.25′ footprint keeps a full, comfortable stance area open on either side without crowding the monitor.
