RSG Pro Overhead Golf Launch Monitor
Build Your Dream Home Golf Simulator
Two Synchronized Cameras, Mounted Overhead, Reading Club And Ball
The RSG Pro is a ceiling-mounted bar that hangs above and slightly behind the hitting area with its cameras angled 15 degrees forward. Two synchronized high-speed near-infrared cameras plus infrared sensors read the ball inside its first 30 inches of flight, which is how the unit produces measured spin and full club-delivery numbers from a position that keeps the floor completely clear.
This is the only Red Stakes Golf unit that measures club delivery. With a reflective sticker on the clubhead, the RSG Pro adds club path, vertical attack angle, face angle, and face impact location on top of the ball data set — the four numbers that explain why a shot did what it did. It is the model built for lessons, gapping sessions, and club fitting rather than casual rounds.
Nothing On The Floor
Overhead mount extends about 5.25 inches below the ceiling surface. No tripod beside the mat, no unit behind the golfer.
Full Club Delivery
Club path, vertical attack, face angle, and face impact location, measured with a reflective club sticker.
Built In Michigan
Designed and assembled in the United States by Red Stakes Golf, with US-based product support.
RSG Club Is The Software — Read This Before Ordering
The RSG Pro is a closed-platform launch monitor. It runs Red Stakes Golf’s own RSG Club engine and nothing else. There is no recurring software requirement, and there is also no path to a third-party title, which makes this the single most important thing to settle before a unit at this price is ordered.
Included With Every Unit
- RSG Club Core software license
- 10 included golf courses
- 3 practice ranges, including driving and chipping
- Putting mode for tee-to-green play
- Online tournaments and leaderboards
- Wager matches using in-game coins
Not Supported
- GSPro — not compatible
- E6 Connect and E6 Apex — not compatible
- TGC 2019 — not compatible
- Awesome Golf and FSX Pro — not compatible
- macOS, iOS, and Android — Windows 11 only
RSG Club Core ships free with the hardware and covers the ten included courses. An RSG Club Premium tier opens roughly 36 courses, four ranges, and weekly tournaments. Premium is an upgrade rather than a requirement — full rounds can be played indefinitely on the free tier.
Golfers who want GSPro, E6 Connect, or TGC 2019 on an overhead unit should compare the VTrack Overhead Launch Monitor and the ProTee VX, both open-platform ceiling-mounted systems that feed those titles directly.
What Separates The Pro From The One
Dual Camera Stereoscopy
Two synchronized high-speed near-infrared cameras give the system two viewpoints on the same strike for faster, tighter calculation.
Club Delivery Data
Club path, vertical attack, face angle, and face impact location, exclusive to this model within the Red Stakes lineup.
Overhead Mount
Ceiling-mounted bar with an upper and lower bracket, hanging about 5.25 inches below the mounting surface.
30-Inch Read Window
The ball is measured inside its first 30 inches of flight, so no ball-flight runway is required in the room.
Spin Logic
Patented marker-reading system that measures actual backspin and sidespin off a marked TaylorMade ball.
No Perceptible Delay
Wired Ethernet shot data path keeps the gap between impact and on-screen ball flight below the threshold of notice.
Both Handed Players
A centered tee serves right and left handed golfers with no repositioning of the unit or recalibration.
Every Club
Driver through putter on one setup, with a dedicated putting mode for tee-to-green rounds.
Seven Ball Parameters Plus Five Club Parameters
The RSG Pro reports the same ball data set as the RSG One and adds four club-delivery parameters on top of club head speed. Those four require a reflective sticker on the clubhead. Without a sticker the unit still reports the full ball set plus club speed, which is exactly what the RSG One provides.
Ball & Flight Data
- Ball speed
- Launch angle
- Launch direction
- Backspin
- Sidespin
- Carry distance
- Total distance
Club Data
- Club speed in mph
- Club path, in degrees in-out or out-in
- Vertical attack, in degrees ascending or descending
- Face angle, reported open, flush, or closed
- Face impact, reported toe, center, or heel
The four delivery parameters require a reflective club sticker. Club speed reports with or without one.
| Parameter | Published Tolerance |
|---|---|
| Club Speed | ± 0.5 mph |
| Ball Speed | ± 1 mph |
| Back Spin | ± 50 rpm |
| Side Spin | ± 50 rpm |
| Carry Distance | ± 2 yards |
| Total Distance | ± 2 yards |
Tolerances as published by Red Stakes Golf for its camera and infrared systems. Spin accuracy assumes a marked TaylorMade TP5 Pix ball.
Measured Spin, And The Ball That Makes It Work
Spin Logic reads the printed pattern on a TaylorMade TP5 Pix ball as it rotates off the face and resolves that rotation into measured backspin and sidespin. Pairing measured spin with measured face angle and club path is what turns a session from a distance readout into a diagnosis.
Marked Balls — Measured Spin
Three TP5 Pix balls ship with the unit. TP5 and TP5x marked balls are the recommended ongoing ball for measured spin.
Plain Balls — Estimated Spin
Any ball can be hit. Speed and launch stay accurate while spin is estimated from the club selected in game.
Avoid Novelty Prints
Red Stakes Golf advises against heavily decorated TaylorMade prints because the pigment reads poorly in the near-infrared spectrum.
Full performance on this unit assumes a rotation of marked TP5 Pix or TP5x balls plus reflective club stickers for club-delivery data. Both are worth stocking for an instruction or fitting bay.
Mounting And Space Requirements
The RSG Pro is a ceiling install. The mounting surface has to be flat, parallel to the plane of the screen, and level relative to the floor, and the setback from the screen shifts with the mounting height, so the ceiling gets measured before anything is ordered.
| Requirement | Specification |
|---|---|
| Mount Type | Ceiling-mounted overhead bar with upper and lower bracket, hanging approximately 5.25 inches below the mounting surface |
| Mounting Surface | Flat, parallel to the plane of the projection screen, and approximately level with respect to ceiling and floor |
| Camera Angle | Cameras angled 15 degrees forward toward the hitting area |
| Mount Height | Ideal range 8 ft 9 in to 10 ft 6 in above the hitting surface |
| Ball Position | Roughly 30 inches in front of the unit, toward the impact screen |
| Distance To Screen | Typically 11 ft to 12 ft from the mounted unit to the screen. Red Stakes Golf cites a 30.5 inch setback at a 9 ft 6 in mounting height |
| Tee To Screen | 8 ft to 10 ft, with 9 ft recommended by Red Stakes Golf |
| Swing Clearance | 7 ft radius around the ball, checked behind the golfer and overhead, for right and left handed play |
| Screen Standoff | At least 12 inches between the back of the impact screen and any wall or object |
| Read Window | Ball measured within the first 30 inches of flight, so no ball-flight runway is required |
| Handedness | Right and left handed play from the same centered tee, with no repositioning |
| Dealer Status | Elite Sim Golf Authorized Red Stakes Golf Dealer |
Mounting height, setback, and screen distance are interdependent, so send room dimensions before ordering and the geometry gets confirmed first.
An overhead launch monitor and a ceiling-mounted projector compete for the same real estate. Use the Projector Fitment Tool to confirm throw and mounting position, and the SimKit Bundle Builder for enclosure sizing.
RSG Club Needs A Real Windows Gaming PC
RSG Club is a dedicated Windows application and the RSG Pro sends its shot data over a wired Ethernet link rather than USB or Wi-Fi. Integrated laptop graphics will not run the software, so the machine gets specified alongside the launch monitor.
| Component | Minimum Published By Red Stakes Golf |
|---|---|
| Operating System | Windows 11 64-bit with S Mode disabled. macOS is not supported |
| Processor | Intel Core i5 quad-core or equivalent |
| Graphics | Dedicated GPU compatible with OpenGL 4.6, 4 GB GDDR5 VRAM, current drivers. Integrated graphics will not run RSG Club |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM |
| Storage | 6 GB free space |
| Shot Data Link | Direct wired Ethernet connection to the PC, or a supported Ethernet-to-USB adapter with a static IP |
| Internet | Persistent 10 Mbps connection for licensing, courses, and online play |
| Power | Internal supply handles 100V to 240V, suitable for international installs with a local adapter |
| Display Out | HDMI to a projector or display |
Every simulator PC built by Elite Sim Golf clears these requirements with room to spare, including the Ethernet port RSG Club depends on for shot data.

Does the RSG Pro work with GSPro
No. The RSG Pro is a closed-platform system that runs Red Stakes Golf’s RSG Club software only. GSPro, E6 Connect, E6 Apex, TGC 2019, FSX Pro, and Awesome Golf are all unsupported. Golfers who want an overhead unit for GSPro should compare the VTrack Overhead Launch Monitor or the ProTee VX.
Is a subscription required
No. RSG Club Core is included with the hardware and covers ten courses, three practice ranges, and putting mode with no recurring fee. An optional RSG Club Premium tier adds roughly 36 courses, four ranges, and weekly tournaments, but full rounds can be played indefinitely without it.
How high does the ceiling need to be
Red Stakes Golf specifies an ideal mounting height of 8 ft 9 in to 10 ft 6 in above the hitting surface, which sets the practical floor for the room. It also specifies a 7 ft swing radius around the ball checked overhead and behind the golfer, a mounting surface that is flat and level, and a setback that shifts with mounting height. Send room dimensions to Elite Sim Golf and the mounting geometry gets confirmed before the order goes in.
Where does the unit mount relative to the ball and screen
The ball sits roughly 30 inches in front of the unit toward the impact screen, and the mounted unit typically ends up 11 ft to 12 ft from the screen. Red Stakes Golf cites a 30.5 inch setback when the unit is mounted at 9 ft 6 in. Cameras are angled 15 degrees forward and the bar hangs about 5.25 inches below the mounting surface.
What club data does it measure
Club speed in mph, club path in degrees as in-out or out-in, vertical attack in degrees as ascending or descending, face angle as open, flush, or closed, and face impact as toe, center, or heel. The four delivery parameters require a reflective club sticker, which ships with the unit.
Are club stickers required for every shot
They are required for club path, vertical attack, face angle, and face impact. Without a sticker the unit still reports the full ball data set plus club head speed. Replacement stickers are a normal consumable on this system.
Are special golf balls required
Marked balls are required for measured spin, and three TaylorMade TP5 Pix balls ship with the unit. Any ball can be hit, but with an unmarked ball spin is estimated from the club selected in game while speed and launch stay accurate. Heavily decorated novelty prints are not recommended because the pigment reads poorly in near infrared.
Does it need ball flight distance to read a shot
No. The RSG Pro measures the ball inside its first 30 inches of flight, so the screen or net can sit close in front of the ball. Room depth is driven by swing clearance and comfortable tee-to-screen distance rather than by ball flight.
Can left handed and right handed players share the setup
Yes. The tee stays centered on the screen and the unit stays mounted in place. Nothing is moved or recalibrated when handedness changes, provided the 7 ft swing radius is clear on both sides.
How does it connect to the PC
Through a direct wired Ethernet connection, which is what keeps shot latency low. A 12 meter Ethernet cable ships with the unit. Wi-Fi is not used for shot data. If the only Ethernet port is already in use, Red Stakes Golf supports an Ethernet-to-USB adapter configured with a static IP.
What PC does it need
Windows 11 64-bit with S Mode disabled, an Intel Core i5 quad-core or better, a dedicated OpenGL 4.6 graphics card with 4 GB of VRAM, 16 GB of RAM, 6 GB of free storage, and a persistent 10 Mbps internet connection. Integrated graphics will not run RSG Club and macOS is not supported.
How is it calibrated
A 3-ball calibration jig ships with the unit and sets the reference positions the cameras use, with the first ball position roughly 30 inches in front of the launch monitor. Calibration is a one-time setup step and the procedure is documented by Red Stakes Golf.
How does it ship
The RSG Pro ships direct from Red Stakes Golf in Michigan. Transit time and shipping cost are quoted at checkout. Contact Elite Sim Golf for lead time on a specific delivery date or to coordinate a full bay arriving together.
Who handles support after the sale
Elite Sim Golf handles order questions, bay and ceiling design, and PC compatibility. Firmware, calibration, and RSG Club account issues route to the Red Stakes Golf US-based support team, and Elite Sim Golf will open and follow that ticket with the customer.
Why Buy An Overhead Unit Here
An overhead launch monitor is an install, not a purchase. Mounting height, setback, screen distance, projector position, and mat height all interact, and getting one of them wrong is expensive after the ceiling is drilled.
Ceiling Geometry First
Mounting height, setback, and projector position reviewed together against real room dimensions before an order is placed.
PC Compatibility Checked
Machines verified against the OpenGL and Ethernet requirements RSG Club depends on, not just a RAM figure.
Honest Platform Advice
Open-platform and closed-platform overhead units both sold here, with a straight answer about which one fits the goal.
Support After Delivery
One point of contact for calibration, warranty, and anything that needs escalating to the manufacturer.
The RSG Pro is the Red Stakes unit for a golfer who wants measured club delivery and a clear floor, and who is content inside one software ecosystem. If GSPro is the destination, the conversation should happen before the ceiling gets drilled.
