An Installation Projector Aimed At Simulators.
The PowerLite L690SE is a 3-chip 3LCD laser installation projector with a native WUXGA (1920 × 1200) panel set and 4K Enhancement Technology, finished in black. Epson positions it for floor projection, rear projection, museum work, and golf simulation — applications that all share the same requirement: a very large image from a very short distance, running for long stretches without service.
The laser light source is rated for 20,000 hours in Normal and Quiet modes and up to 30,000 hours in Extended Mode, measured to the point where brightness has dropped by half. For context, a lamp projector in the same bay would need replacement lamps several times a year under heavy use. The sealed air filter carries the same 30,000-hour maintenance rating.
Placement is where this projector earns its keep. The 0.5–0.7 throw ratio with 1.4× optical zoom supports a projected image from 100″ to 500″ diagonal, and the ±50% vertical and ±20% horizontal lens shift means the projector does not have to sit on the screen centerline. Because marketed throw ratios are approximations, do not estimate the mount position by hand — run the exact numbers through the ESG projector fitment tool and throw calculator using the real screen dimensions before drilling.
Ceiling mount notes: the chassis supports 360-degree mounting on a universal VESA pattern, so it can hang inverted from a standard drop mount or sit on a shelf behind the hitting area. Weight is 20.5 lb, so use a rated mount and anchor into structure. Keystone correction (±30° vertical and horizontal), Quick Corner, arc correction, and curved surface correction cover the geometry cleanup on curved or off-axis impact screens.
For simulator software, the L690SE accepts a standard HDMI feed from any sim PC running GSPro, E6 Connect, TGC 2019, or Awesome Golf, at up to 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz. Two HDMI 2.0 inputs with HDCP 2.3 plus an HDMI output allow a launch monitor PC and a media source to stay connected simultaneously, and the HDBaseT port supports long cable runs from an equipment closet over a single Cat cable.
