Final trimming on site is required. Turf ships in a 12′ or 15′ total width and is cut to a length that covers your selected size, so most kits include extra turf on one side. Tile packs hold 18 tiles, so some sizes include spares. Plan to trim the turf and cut tiles to fit your room and mat on site.
Standard Thickness

Built to Sit Flush at 1¾″

One layer of 1″ EVA tile under ⅝″ ProPutt turf finishes at 1⅝″. The seaming tape raises the turf edges slightly, which brings the transition up to a level 1¾″ against your mat.

1″ EVA Tile + ⅝″ ProPutt + Seaming Tape ≈ 1¾″
Up to ⅛″ under the mat is ideal. The tape takes up the difference at the edge.

Flush Out of the Box

Taller 2⅜″ Mats

For SIGPRO Soft or TrueBirdie Beaver Tail, add a layer of ¾″ EVA tile under the kit for a flush 2⅜″ finish.

How It Goes Together

Basic hand tools, nothing glued to your floor. See the full step-by-step guide for details.

  1. Lay the TileClean the floor, then lock the 1″ EVA tiles together across your bay, leaving a pocket for your hitting mat.
  2. Tape and Roll Out TurfRun seaming tape across the tile, let the ProPutt turf relax flat, then press it down from the center out.
  3. Trim and Set the MatTrim turf and tile to your room on site, drop in your mat and check the edge with a straightedge.

Subfloor Kit Questions

Which size should I choose?
Match the width to your enclosure or room, wall to wall. For depth, we suggest 8′, which sets up our recommended 10′ hitting distance from the impact screen.
Does the kit arrive cut to my exact size?
No. Turf ships in a 12′ or 15′ total width and is cut to cover your size, so final trimming on site is required. You'll also cut tiles around your mat.
How thick is the finished floor?
