Built for the HotShot Hitting Area
Same Material As the Mat
Built from the identical turf and foam base as the rest of the HotShot mat, so the hitting area matches the surrounding surface exactly.
Only Insert That Takes Real Tees
The Standard insert is the only one of the three HotShot inserts that accepts a real wood or rubber golf tee, in addition to Carl’s Indoor Golf Tees.
Punishes Chunked Shots
A firmer feel underfoot and under club gives honest feedback on fat shots, similar to hitting off a tight lie.

Building a Pro Enclosure Setup?
Every HotShot insert fits Carl’s HotShot Hitting Mat in any size, and any hitting mat or flooring system that measures roughly 1.75″ tall — including the Pro Enclosure Kit hitting area.
Compare All Three HotShot Inserts
All three inserts share the same 30″ x 12″ x 1.75″ dimensions and fit any HotShot mat size or compatible flooring system. They differ in feel, tee compatibility, and joint impact.
Standard Hitting Strip
Same turf as the mat itself. Accepts real tees. Most versatile, familiar feel.
Foam Divot Strip
Softest option. Forgiving on wrists and elbows across long practice sessions.
View Foam Divot StripGel Divot Strip
Most realistic fairway feel. Reacts to divots like real turf, punishes fat shots.
View Gel Divot StripReplace the Strip, Not the Mat
A worn hitting area does not mean a new mat. Swap in a fresh Standard insert and keep every other part of the setup exactly as it is.
Contact UsCommon Questions
What is the Standard Hitting Strip made of?
The same top-quality turf and foam base used throughout the rest of Carl’s HotShot Hitting Mat. It is the only one of the three inserts built from identical material to the mat surrounding it.
Does the Standard insert accept real golf tees?
Yes. It is the only HotShot insert of the three that accepts a real wood or rubber golf tee. The Foam Divot and Gel Divot strips require Carl’s Indoor Golf Tees instead.
Will this fit my existing HotShot mat?
Yes, it fits every size of Carl’s HotShot Hitting Mat (4’ x 5’, 4’ x 9’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’) since all sizes share the same 30″ x 12″ hitting area cutout.
How do I install a replacement strip?
Trace around the worn section of the current insert, cut it free, and press the new strip into the opening. Work the edges until the turf sits flush with the surrounding mat.
