A modular EPDM rubber base that sits underneath Carl’s HotShot Hitting Mat and other hitting mats, keeping the mat locked in place through the hardest swings while adding a layer of cushion underfoot.

The thickness and weight of the rubber base create a solid, reliable foundation, so the mat stops shifting or sliding mid-swing. No more stepping off to readjust the mat between shots.
Softer on the Joints
The rubber layer adds cushion underfoot and separates the mat from hard flooring underneath, reducing the impact felt in knees, hips, and ankles over long practice sessions.
Modular and Reconfigurable
Bowtie connectors lock the individual pieces together, so the base can be reconfigured or moved as one connected unit whenever the setup changes.

The 5’ x 7’ size is currently out of stock and does not correspond to a HotShot mat size. The 4’ x 5’, 4’ x 9’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’ sizes each match a HotShot Hitting Mat size exactly.
Three Piece Types, One Interlocking Base
Every size is built from the same three modular piece types, connected with bowtie connectors. Made of Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber.
Corner Pieces
Thick pieces with a lip that holds the mat edge in place at each corner of the base.
Side Pieces
Same thickness as the corner pieces, with a lip that holds the mat edge along the sides of the base.
Middle Pieces
Thinner than the corner and side pieces since they sit under the middle of the mat and do not need a lip to hold an edge.

What is the No-Slip Base made of?

Which size should I order?
Match the base size to the HotShot mat size going on top of it: 4’ x 5’, 4’ x 9’, 5’ x 8’, or 6’ x 10’.
Does the base work with mats other than the HotShot mat?
Yes. It is built to keep the HotShot mat from sliding, but it also works under other hitting mats of a matching footprint.
What is the difference between the corner, side, and middle pieces?
Corner pieces (24.5″L x 24.5″W x 1.75″D) and side pieces (24.5″L x 12″W x 1.75″D) include a lip that holds the mat edge in place. Middle pieces (12″L x 12″W x 1″D) are thinner since they sit under the center of the mat and do not need a lip.
Can I move or reconfigure the base after setup?
Yes. The bowtie connectors that join the pieces together allow the entire assembled base to be moved as one connected unit if the setup changes.
Is the 5’ x 7’ size available?
Not currently. The 5’ x 7’ size is out of stock and does not correspond to an existing HotShot mat size. The 4’ x 5’, 4’ x 9’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’ sizes are in stock.
