Why The GT2400HDR
Top Of The Compact Lineup, Tuned For Sim Builds
The GT2400HDR keeps the same DuraCore laser engine, IP6X dust seal, 24/7 frame, and short-throw form factor as the rest of the lineup — then adds 700 more lumens than the GT2000HDR, Enhanced Gaming mode, Smart Fit setup, RJ45 control, a quieter 29 dB acoustic floor, and a 5-year light source warranty. The pick for the brightest, biggest, most demanding sim bays.
4,200 ANSI Lumens
The brightest projector in the Optoma compact short-throw lineup. 700 lumens more than the GT2000HDR — enough output for larger impact screens, lighter ambient conditions, and commercial sim spaces.
Enhanced Gaming Mode
Three-tier latency response: 16.7 ms at 1080p/60, 8.4 ms at 1080p/120, and 16.7 ms when a 4K signal is downscaled to 1080p output. The lowest-lag tier in the compact family.
Smart Fit Setup App
The Optoma Smart Control app (iOS and Android) connects over RJ45 or Bluetooth to align the projector to the screen, dial in geometry, and switch picture modes from a phone. Available end of June 2026.
Sim-Tuned Color
Rec.709 coverage with golf-sim picture presets called out by Optoma. Course visuals look natural rather than oversaturated — grass, sky, and shadow tones render in a way that holds across long sessions.
HDR10 + HLG
Accepts HDR10 and HLG sources across both HDMI 2.0 inputs. Course environments with bright sky and shadowed fairway hold detail in both highlights and shadows.
RJ45 Network Control
Built-in RJ45 LAN plus RS232 for full network and serial control — integrate with Crestron, Extron, and home automation systems. The GT2000HDR omits the RJ45 port; the GT2400HDR keeps it.
Quieter 29 dB Floor
29 dB minimum / 31 dB maximum operating noise. Roughly 2–3 dB quieter than the ZW350ST and GT2000HDR — noticeable in residential bays where the projector mounts near the player.
5-Year Light Source Warranty
5 years of light source coverage plus 1 year of parts and labor through Optoma’s authorized dealer network. The longest light source warranty in the compact lineup.
Who Is It Best For?
- Large-screen sim builds (12′ to 20′+ wide)
- Commercial bays, training centers, demo rooms
- Rooms with ambient light or large windows
- Builds where low input lag is non-negotiable
- Integrators wanting RJ45 + Smart Fit app control
- Buyers prioritizing warranty length
Short Throw & Setup
The Compact Lens And Geometry Toolkit
Placement Flexibility
The 0.496:1 fixed short-throw lens projects a 100″ image from around 4 ft and a 300″ image from roughly 10.5 ft. Native 116% offset means the image projects above the lens centerline — matches a ceiling-mount install behind the player.
- Throw ratio: 0.496:1 (fixed, no zoom)
- Projection distance: 15.75″ to 125.98″
- Screen size: 36″ to 300″ diagonal
- Native offset: 116%
- Keystone: horizontal ±15°, vertical ±15°
- Lens shift: not supported
Installer Checklist
Fixed-lens short-throw projectors are unforgiving on alignment. Confirm geometry and clearance before drilling — the Smart Fit app helps with final tuning, not initial mounting.
- Confirm screen width and final aspect ratio
- Verify ceiling height and bay depth
- Use the ESG fitment tool for exact mounting distance
- Plan HDMI 2.0, RJ45, and power runs to the mount
- Use Smart Fit app for geometry fine-tune after install
- Test image placement before permanent mounting
What Is The GT2400HDR
The Top Tier Of The Optoma Compact Short-Throw Lineup
The GT2400HDR is the top tier of Optoma’s compact short-throw lineup — same DuraCore laser engine, IP6X dust seal, 24/7 operation rating, and short-throw form factor as the ZW350ST and GT2000HDR, with a native 1080p Full HD panel pushed to 4,200 ANSI lumens, HDR10 plus HLG support, Enhanced Gaming mode with input lag as low as 8.4 ms at 1080p/120, Smart Fit setup through the Optoma Smart Control app, an RJ45 network control port, and a 5-year light source warranty. It uses a single-chip DLP engine with a 1920 × 1080 panel, a sealed DuraCore laser light source rated up to 30,000 hours, and a fixed 0.496:1 short-throw lens.
Placement range: the GT2400HDR supports a projection distance of 15.75 in to 125.98 in (~1.3 ft to 10.5 ft) and a screen size range of 36″ to 300″ diagonal. For the exact lens-to-screen distance based on your screen size and aspect ratio, run the numbers in the ESG projector fitment tool and throw calculator before mounting.
Mount notes: the GT2400HDR weighs 6.61 lbs and supports 360° operation. The chassis measures 10.79″ × 4.49″ × 8.5″ — the same compact footprint as the rest of the family. Native offset is 116%. The projector has no optical lens shift; image alignment uses ±15° keystone in both axes plus geometric correction, with Smart Fit app assistance.
Enhanced Gaming mode: the GT2400HDR offers a tiered low-latency mode. At 1080p/60 input lag is rated at 16.7 ms. At 1080p/120 input lag drops to 8.4 ms — the lowest in the compact lineup. When a 4K UHD signal is downscaled to 1080p output, lag is rated at 16.7 ms. For sim builds that prioritize feel and response, this is the tier to step up to.
Smart Fit and sim color: Smart Fit setup runs through the Optoma Smart Control app on iOS or Android (available end of June 2026), connecting over RJ45 or Bluetooth. The projector ships with Rec.709 color coverage and golf simulator color presets called out by Optoma — course visuals render natural rather than oversaturated. Simulator software including GSPro, E6 Connect, TGC 2019, Awesome Golf, and Foresight FSX runs over either of the two HDMI 2.0 inputs.

Build The Complete Bay
Pair The GT2400HDR With The Rest Of The Build
A projector is one piece of the simulator. Elite Sim Golf builds the full bay — enclosure, screen, hitting surface, launch monitor, PC, and projector — sized and shipped together so the geometry works the first time.
Pair It With An ESG Enclosure
The Eagle 12 enclosure is sized for short-throw projectors with proper sidewall clearance and an impact-rated screen surface. Frame, screen, and side curtains ship together.
Build A Complete SimKit
Pre-built SimKit bundles include the projector, enclosure, hitting surface, launch monitor, and PC matched to your room size and budget. Or use the Bundle Builder to spec a custom kit.
