Will This Projector Fit My Space?
4K UHD · Laser · Ultra-Short Throw
Big Image. Tight Room. 0.5 Throw.
The BenQ LK830ST is the compact 4K ultra-short-throw projector in BenQ’s dedicated golf-sim lineup. A 0.496:1 fixed lens fills a 300″ impact screen from roughly 10 ft 10 in, low-latency gaming response down to 4.2 ms, and the exclusive BenQ Golf Mode color tuning. Built for short bays, low ceilings, and floor-mount installs where the projector has to live close to the screen.

Why The LK830ST
Built For Compact Bays And Floor Mounts
The LK830ST is BenQ’s answer for the simulator builds where space is the constraint. A 0.5 throw ratio puts a giant image on a small footprint, and BenQ’s gaming-grade input lag plus Golf Mode color profile make it feel built for indoor golf.
True 4K UHD
3840 × 2160 native renders sharp fairway detail, readable simulator overlays, and clean tracer lines — the same 4K resolution as the higher-tier LK936ST.
4,000 ANSI Lumens
Drives impact screens up to roughly 10 ft tall with punchy, color-accurate images. Sized for residential sim rooms with controllable ambient light.
0.496:1 Fixed Ultra-Short Throw
The tightest throw ratio in BenQ’s 4K golf lineup. Project a 300″ image from about 10 ft 10 in. Built for compact rooms, low ceilings, and floor-mount installs.
Low Input Lag For Sim Play
16.7 ms at 4K/60 Hz, 8.3 ms at 1080p/120 Hz, and as low as 4.2 ms at 1080p/240 Hz. Menus, animations, and shot-result transitions stay snappy.
BlueCore Laser, 30K Hours
Laser DLP light engine rated up to 20,000 hours Normal and 30,000 hours Eco. No lamp replacements and consistent brightness across the rated life.
BenQ Golf Mode
Exclusive Golf Mode color profile corrects purple fringing common in golf software using calibrated blue and green tones. Natural skies and green grass without manual tweaking.
Screen Fill Aspect Switching
BenQ’s Screen Fill switches to 1:1, 5:4, 4:3, 16:10, or 16:9 native — one preset per sim screen aspect — with no distortion or stretched UI.
Dust-Protected Optical Engine
Sealed optical engine shields against dust intrusion, with an optional air filter for harsh environments. Built for garages, basements, and dust-prone bays.
Who Is It Best For?
- Compact residential simulator rooms
- Bays with low ceilings or short throw distance
- Floor-mount installs inside an enclosure base
- Sim builders who want sub-20 ms input lag
- Builders running GSPro, E6 Connect, TGC 2019, or Foresight FSX
- Garages and basements (dust-protected engine)
Ultra-Short Throw & Setup
The Compact Lens Built For Tight Bays
Placement Flexibility
The 0.496:1 fixed lens is the tightest throw in BenQ’s 4K golf-sim lineup. Mount close to the screen to eliminate shadows on the hitter and reclaim room depth for the launch monitor.
- Throw ratio: 0.496:1 (fixed, no zoom)
- 300″ image from ~10 ft 10 in
- Screen size range: ~70″ to 300″ diagonal
- Projection offset: 114% (full-height)
- Keystone: 2D, H/V ±30°
- Corner Fit + Digital Shrink & Shift to 75–80%
Installer Checklist
Fixed-lens ultra-short-throw projectors are unforgiving on alignment. Measure lens-to-screen (not mount-plate-to-screen) and confirm geometry before drilling anything.
- Confirm screen width and final aspect ratio
- Verify ceiling height or floor-mount clearance
- Use the ESG fitment tool for exact mounting distance
- Plan HDMI and power-brick runs to the mount
- Use Digital Shrink & Shift for fine adjustment
- Test image placement before permanent mounting
What Is The LK830ST
The Compact 4K Entry To BenQ’s Golf Sim Lineup
The LK830ST is the entry tier of BenQ’s purpose-built 4K golf-simulator projector lineup — tighter-throw, smaller-chassis, and floor-mount-friendly versus the prosumer AK700ST and high-output LK936ST. It uses a single-chip DLP engine with a true 4K UHD pixel array, a dust-protected BlueCore laser light source rated up to 30,000 hours in Eco mode, and a fixed 0.496:1 ultra-short-throw lens.
Placement range: with a 0.5 throw ratio, the LK830ST can fill a 300″ impact screen from approximately 10 ft 10 in away. The lens is fixed with no optical zoom, so distance is determined by image width. For the exact lens-to-screen distance based on your screen size and aspect ratio, run the numbers in the ESG projector fitment tool and throw calculator before mounting.
Mount notes: the LK830ST weighs 7.5 lbs and measures 11″ × 4.8″ × 9″ (279 × 121 × 229 mm). The short, low-profile chassis is well suited for floor-mount installs inside an enclosure base, ceiling mounts in low-clearance bays, and tight residential rooms. Native projection offset is 114%. Corner Fit and 2D keystone (H/V ±30°) plus Digital Shrink & Shift handle cleanup — no optical lens shift on this model.
Latency: BenQ rates the LK830ST at 16.7 ms input lag at 4K/60 Hz, 8.3 ms at 1080p/120 Hz, and as low as 4.2 ms at 1080p/240 Hz. That puts it in true gaming-projector territory — ideal for fast menu navigation, snappy shot animations, and competitive sim play on GSPro, TGC 2019, or FSX.
Simulator software: the LK830ST works with all major PC-based golf-sim platforms including GSPro, E6 Connect, TGC 2019, Awesome Golf, and Foresight FSX. Two HDMI 2.0 inputs let you keep the sim PC and a media source connected at the same time. BenQ’s Screen Fill feature switches the projector between 1:1, 5:4, 4:3, 16:10, and 16:9 native — one preset per sim screen aspect — with no image distortion.
