What Sets It Apart

Built Different — Retractable from the Ground Up

Every component of the Vanish Series was designed around the retraction mechanism — not adapted from a fixed enclosure. That means the impact screen, side baffles, ceiling panel, and blackout membrane all roll up cleanly together, every time.

3-Ply Proprietary Impact Screen

Custom polyester blend spacer material — approximately 1/8″ thick — developed over 10 years of testing. Quieter on impact, resists puckering, and holds up against high-spin, high-velocity shots without burn-in marks over time.

Rear Blackout & Impact Membrane

A separate blackout membrane sits behind the impact screen and serves double duty: it absorbs the initial ball impact (extending main screen life), eliminates ambient light bleed for sharper projection, and prevents balls from slipping behind the enclosure.

Motorized or Hand Crank

The 120V/280W motor retracts the full enclosure in under five minutes via remote control. No power nearby? The hand crank option rolls everything up in approximately 30 seconds. Both options include the same aluminum roller tube and universal brackets.

Universal Ceiling or Wall Mount

Aluminum brackets mount to wall or ceiling with four mounting points for load-rated stability. Versatile bracket kits project up to 25″ from the surface for clearance over garage door rails, openers, or lighting. 2-ft extension kits available for ceilings above 115″.

Full Enclosure — No Gaps

Two side screens (5 ft depth), a ceiling panel, corner pieces, side baffles, and a front baffle seal every opening in the deployed position. Ball containment is complete on all six sides — same as a fixed enclosure, without the permanent footprint.

Lifetime Frame Warranty

The aluminum roller tube and frame carry a lifetime warranty. All other components — screen, side panels, motor, and accessories — are covered for two years when using an approved SportScreen impact screen.

Who the Vanish Series Is Built For

The retractable format solves specific problems. These are the four most common situations where the Vanish Series is the right answer.

Garage Multi-Use

The car still needs to park there. The Vanish Series deploys in minutes and retracts just as fast — no floor anchors, no permanent frame standing in the way. The space is yours again when the round is over.

Bonus Room or Basement

Wants a real simulator bay without giving up the room for workouts, movies, or VR. A fixed enclosure commits the space permanently — the Vanish rolls up and the room returns to normal.

Non-Standard Ceilings

Low ceilings, garage door rails, openers, or lighting fixtures that make a freestanding enclosure impractical. The Vanish’s bracket system projects up to 25″ from the surface and clears most common obstacles.

Clean Aesthetic Preference

Does not want the visual clutter of a frame and netting standing in the room year-round. When the Vanish retracts, the only thing visible is the ceiling bracket — no tubes, no screen, no netting.

PRO Series 12x9 — The Fixed Premium Alternative

High Contrast Gray Triple-Layer Screen

Premium gray screen material vs. the standard white screen found on most fixed enclosures — deeper blacks and richer projection contrast in any lighting condition.

EMT Pipe Frame Kit Included

Frame pipes included standard — no sourcing required. RipStop fabric surround and heavyweight foam-lined flaps are also included.

Choose a Projector for the Vanish Series

The right projector depends on room depth, ceiling height, and whether a ceiling-mounted overhead launch monitor will be installed. Use the Projector Fitment Tool to confirm mounting distance before purchasing — especially critical with the Vanish since bracket placement affects projector positioning.

Premium 4K

BenQ AK700ST — 4K Laser Short-Throw

  • 4K UHD resolution
  • 4,000 ANSI lumens
  • Throw ratio: 0.69–0.83:1
  • Laser light source — 20,000 hr rated
  • Auto Screen Fit, Golf Mode, IP5X dust protection
Overhead launch monitor compatible: The AK700ST’s short-throw lens and ceiling-rear mounting position do not interfere with ceiling-mounted overhead launch monitors (e.g. VTrack). Full clearance confirmed.
View BenQ AK700ST →
Best Value Laser

Optoma GT2400HDR — 1080p Ultra-Short-Throw

  • 1080p Full HD resolution
  • 4,200 ANSI lumens
  • Throw ratio: 0.496:1 fixed
  • DuraCore laser — 30,000 hr rated
  • 8.4ms lag, IP6X, HDR10/HLG, 360° placement
Ultra-short throw consideration: The GT2400HDR’s 0.496:1 throw ratio requires the projector to mount much closer to the screen than a standard short-throw model. In setups with a ceiling-mounted overhead launch monitor (e.g. VTrack), verify that the projector mounting position does not conflict with the monitor’s ceiling bracket before purchasing. Use the Projector Fitment Tool to confirm placement.

Frequently Asked Questions

SportScreen Vanish Series — FAQ

How much ceiling height do I need for the Vanish Series?

Ceiling height requirements vary by model. The Vanish 9, 11, and 16 require 108″–126″ (9 ft–10 ft 6″). The Vanish 13H requires 125.5″–143.5″. The Vanish 16H requires 120″–138″. Standard brackets cover ceiling heights from 62″ to 115″; 2-ft extension kits are available for ceilings above 115″. Contact Elite Sim Golf to confirm ceiling compatibility before ordering — the “H” models in particular need taller ceilings than they might appear to require.

Which Vanish model should I choose?

The Vanish 11 is the most popular model and fits standard two-car garages with 9 ft ceilings. The Vanish 9 is the compact choice for single-car stalls or tight rooms. The Vanish 13H adds width and image height for rooms with taller ceilings. The Vanish 16 and 16H provide full two-car-width bays with 16:9 widescreen projection — the 16H adds extra vertical height for rooms with 10 ft or taller ceilings. If unsure, contact Elite Sim Golf with your room dimensions for a recommendation.

What is included with the Vanish Series?

Each Vanish Series purchase includes: one rear blackout/impact support membrane, one 3-ply premium impact screen, two side screens (5 ft depth each), one ceiling panel, two corner pieces, two side baffles, one front baffle, universal aluminum mounting brackets, and all assembly hardware. Not included: launch monitor, simulator computer, golf simulation software, projector, hitting mat, and landing pad.

What is the difference between motorized and hand crank?

The motorized option uses a 120V / 280W motor controlled by a wireless remote. The full enclosure retracts in under five minutes. The motor has a built-in thermal cutoff at 4 minutes of continuous operation; allow 15 minutes to cool before operating again. The hand crank option requires no power and rolls the enclosure up in approximately 30 seconds — a good choice when a standard outlet is not accessible near the roller tube. Both options use the same aluminum roller tube and bracket system.

How far off the back wall and side walls does the Vanish need to be?

Plan for 8″–12″ of clearance behind the rear impact membrane (this allows the membrane to absorb ball impacts properly). Each side screen needs 6″–8″ of clearance off the side walls. Total room depth should be at least 204″ (17 ft) to accommodate enclosure depth plus hitter-to-screen distance (typically 8–10 ft depending on launch monitor type).

Can the Vanish Series be used with a ceiling-mounted overhead launch monitor?

Yes. The Vanish Series is compatible with ceiling-mounted overhead launch monitors such as the VTrack. However, bracket placement for the Vanish and the launch monitor mount must be planned together to avoid conflicts. The BenQ AK700ST projector is confirmed compatible with overhead monitor setups; the Optoma GT2400HDR’s ultra-short throw ratio requires additional verification. Use the Projector Fitment Tool and contact Elite Sim Golf before purchasing if an overhead launch monitor is part of your setup.

What projector works best with the Vanish Series?

The BenQ AK700ST is the premium 4K option and is confirmed compatible with overhead ceiling-mounted launch monitors. The Optoma GT2400HDR is the best-value 1080p laser option, but its 0.496:1 ultra-short throw ratio requires special attention to mounting position when an overhead launch monitor is present. Use the Projector Fitment Tool to confirm throw distances before ordering.

Can I install the Vanish Series myself?

The Vanish Series is designed for owner installation. The universal bracket kit mounts to wall or ceiling at four points, and the versatile bracket system can project up to 25″ from the surface to clear garage door rails, openers, or light fixtures. Assembly instructions and a video walkthrough are available (links above in the specs section). For ceiling heights above 115″, 2-ft extension kits are available separately.

How long does the Vanish Series screen last?

The 3-ply polyester blend impact screen is designed for durability — it resists puckering, pot marks, and burn-in from high-spin, high-velocity shots. The included rear blackout/impact membrane absorbs the most direct impact, extending the life of the primary screen. Replacement screens are available separately from SportScreen if needed. The frame carries a lifetime warranty; all other components including the screen are covered for 2 years when using an approved SportScreen impact screen.

Does the Vanish Series work for left-handed and right-handed golfers?

Yes. The fully enclosed bay — side screens, ceiling panel, baffles, and corner pieces — contains ball flight regardless of swing direction. Both left- and right-handed setups are accommodated without any configuration changes.

What is the difference between the Vanish Series and the ESG fixed enclosures (Birdie 10, Eagle 12, Albatross 13)?

The Birdie 10, Eagle 12, and Albatross 13 are freestanding fixed enclosures with a powder-coated steel tube frame — they occupy floor space permanently and require no ceiling mounting. The Vanish Series mounts to the ceiling or wall and retracts fully when not in use, reclaiming the room. The fixed enclosures are the better choice when the space is dedicated full-time to golf simulation; the Vanish is the better choice for multi-use rooms, garages that still need to park a car, or setups where a clean look when not in use matters. For a permanent premium bay, the PRO Series 12x9 is also worth reviewing.
