Albatross 13S Golf Simulator Enclosure by Elite Sim Golf
The Albatross 13S Golf Simulator Enclosure is the MAC DADDY of our lineup—built for golfers who want a true commercial-style bay in their home or facility. Measuring a massive 13' wide, 8'2" tall, and 5' deep with a 16:9, 4K-ready impact screen, it delivers a wall-to-wall image and a towering hitting window that makes every shot feel like you’re on the tee box at a tour venue.
Despite its size and premium construction, the Albatross 13S is priced to compete with many “value” enclosures. You get a 4K ULTRA triple-layer impact screen, velvet-lined walls with a vinyl exterior, and a heavy-duty 1-1/4" powder-coated steel frame—designed to hold up to commercial use but right at home in a dedicated sim room or high-end garage bay.
Key Features
Massive 13' Simulator Bay
Approx. 13' wide, 8'2" tall, and 5' deep—ideal for dedicated sim rooms and high-end garage bays where you want a true “commercial” feel.
16:9 4K-Ready Screen
Built around a 16:9 aspect ratio so modern 1080p and 4K projectors fill the screen with a cinematic, edge-to-edge image.
4K ULTRA Triple-Layer Impact Screen
Premium triple-layer construction engineered to handle repeated ball strikes while keeping the image bright, sharp, and consistent.
Velvet-Lined, Light-Absorbing Walls
Premium velvet inner lining with a rugged vinyl exterior reduces light bleed and frames the hitting area for a clean, professional look.
Seamless Screen Integration
Velvet enclosure flaps overlap the edges of the impact screen using hook-and-loop fasteners to create a smooth, finished border.
Heavy-Duty Steel Frame
Constructed from 1-1/4" (32 mm) thick-wall powder-coated steel tubing with anti-collision padding along the top rail for durability and protection.
Easy, Tool-Free Assembly
Snap-together frame design; Albatross installs are typically completed in 60–90 minutes with two people recommended for assembly.
Massive 13' Bay for Dedicated Sim Rooms
The Albatross 13S is built for spaces where you want to go big: dedicated sim rooms, bonus rooms, clubhouse bays, and high-end garages. The 13' width gives right- and left-handed players plenty of room to swing comfortably, while the 8'2" height and 5' depth create a deep, immersive hitting window that feels like a true commercial installation.
If you want the “wow” factor when people walk into your simulator space, the Albatross 13S is designed to be the centerpiece of the room.
16:9 Widescreen Image for Golf & Entertainment
The Albatross 13S enclosure is built around a 16:9 aspect ratio, which pairs naturally with modern 1080p and 4K projectors. That means:
- A wide, cinematic view of your simulator software
- More immersive framing for full-course play, practice, and online events
- Excellent versatility when you use the bay for movies, sports, or gaming
Combine the 16:9 layout with the 4K ULTRA triple-layer impact screen and you get a bright, detailed image that looks just as good for movie night as it does for a long practice session.
Velvet-Lined Enclosure for a Clean, Professional Look
The Albatross enclosure uses a premium velvet inner lining backed by a robust vinyl exterior. The dark velvet helps absorb stray projector light, improves perceived contrast, and visually frames the hitting area so your eye stays on the screen. Matching velvet flaps wrap the edges of the impact screen using hook-and-loop fastening, creating a smooth transition from wall to screen and helping to reduce light bleed and hotspots.
Heavy-Duty Steel Frame, Built for the Long Haul
At the core of the Albatross 13S is a heavy-duty 1-1/4" (32 mm) thick-wall powder-coated steel frame. The tubing locks together to form a rigid structure that keeps the screen and enclosure panels properly tensioned over time. Anti-collision padding along the top rail adds extra protection in case of a high wedge or full-swing mishit, helping protect both your clubs and the frame.
Fast, Tool-Free Assembly
Despite its size, the Albatross 13S is designed to assemble quickly with minimal hassle. The frame sections snap together without tools, and the enclosure slides over the frame using sewn-in sleeves and hook-and-loop connections. For most customers, assembly takes about 60–90 minutes, with two people recommended for the easiest, safest setup.

Golf Simulator Setup & Safety FAQ
How far away should I stand from my impact screen?
For the safety of both the golfer and the screen, we recommend standing a minimum of 10–12 feet away from the screen.
How much space do I need for a golf simulator enclosure?
When planning your golf simulator space, make sure to account for:
- Buffer space – Avoid placing the enclosure directly against walls or ceilings to help prevent bounceback and reduce the chance of damage.
- Enclosure footprint – Always verify the exact enclosure dimensions when planning your layout.
- Safe hitting distance – Golfers should stand approximately 10–12 feet away from the screen.
- Golfer height – Taller golfers require additional ceiling clearance for a full swing.
- Club length – Drivers require more swing space than irons.
- Turf thickness and obstacles – Consider HVAC ducts, soffits, lighting fixtures, and flooring height.
- Room layout – Ensure there is adequate space for walkways, furniture, and access to doors.
Can I iron or steam a golf impact screen?
We do NOT recommend ironing your golf screen, because it is very easy to damage the screen material. Our goal is for your impact screen to last as long as possible.
When it comes to wrinkles and fold marks, the best solution is prevention. Unpack your new screen immediately after receiving it, and if you need to store it temporarily, fold it very loosely.
Mounting the screen with proper tension using zip ties or ball bungees and allowing it to relax for a couple of days will smooth out most wrinkles naturally.
That being said…
We have also had success using a clothing steamer to remove wrinkles and fold lines. Using a clean consumer-grade steamer with distilled water can help accelerate the process while avoiding water marks on the screen.
Can I wash my golf screen material?
For detailed cleaning instructions and best practices, please see our article:
“How to Clean Your Golf Impact Screen.”
Are there safety concerns when using a golf simulator?
We want your indoor golf setup to be fun, help improve your game, and remain safe for everyone.
Always follow these safety guidelines:
- Follow the assembly manual provided with your enclosure.
- Keep children, pets, and spectators outside of swing range.
- Protect ceilings, walls, windows, vehicles, and nearby property.
- Ensure your enclosure and impact screen are properly tensioned.
- Always use equipment as intended for indoor golf simulator use.
What happens if the black enclosure material gets hit by a golf ball?
The enclosure material is not designed to absorb direct golf ball impacts. During normal use, golf balls should strike the impact screen first.
If a ball contacts the screen and then lightly rebounds into the enclosure fabric, it typically will not cause any issues.
Can I get a replacement impact screen for the enclosure?
Yes. Replacement impact screens are available if your current screen becomes worn or damaged.
Contact our customer support team and we can help match the correct screen size and material for your enclosure.
Proper installation and correct tensioning can significantly extend the life of your golf simulator screen.
How long does it take to assemble the enclosure?
Most DIY golf simulator enclosures assemble in about 45–90 minutes, depending on the enclosure size.
Installation is typically faster with two people. Assembly instructions and reference materials are included to guide the process.
What pipes are required to build the enclosure frame?
DIY golf simulator enclosures require 1-inch EMT (Electrical Metal Tubing) to construct the frame.
You have two options:
- Add a Pipe Framing Kit so pipes arrive pre-cut to the exact lengths.
- Purchase EMT conduit from a local hardware or building supply store.
Your enclosure kit will include the exact pipe lengths and quantities required.
What are EMT pipes?
EMT stands for Electrical Metal Tubing, also known as electrical conduit. These metal pipes are used to construct the frame structure of simulator enclosures.
Important: Do not substitute PVC pipe for EMT. PVC lacks the strength required and will not properly fit EMT fittings.
Do I need to use a golf hitting mat?
Golf hitting mats provide a cushioned surface for standing and swinging your golf club. They help protect your joints during impact and allow you to tee the ball at the proper height for realistic practice.
When choosing a hitting mat size, consider the needs of the golfer and the available simulator space.
- 4' × 5' – Allows most golfers to comfortably swing a driver with their heels near the edge of the mat.
- 5' × 7' – Provides additional stance room for wider swings.
- 4' × 9' – Ideal for simulator setups used by both right- and left-handed golfers.
Larger mats are also helpful when multiple players will be using the simulator.
